Driving to events with R-Comps
I've got my Victoracers and Kosei K1 racing wheels for my autocross season. My original plan was to bring them to the event in the car and swap wheels at the event. However the autocross events that I do are only around 20 miles of pure highway driving away. How much wear can I expect to the tires driving 20 miles on the R-Comps? I'd much prefer to change my wheels and tires at home saving me lugging them around but I'm not sure how much wear 40 miles (round trip) per event would mean to the tires.
Thoughts?

I know a guy that went 2 years without putting real street tires on his car. He drove it to events all the time, 30 to 40 miles. It will wear out the tires faster, but with victoracers it is not as big a concern as it would be with Hoosiers. I know people that drive to events on Hoosiers as well, but they have more money than I do.
As long as you are willing to give up some life for conveinience, I say go for it.

I don't think you'll affect the life of the tire very much. I think the concerns are getting a puncture from road debris, and total hydroplaning if it rains.
You'll wear them out much more on the track then you will going straight at highway speeds.

It's not the wear that will hurt as much as the heat cycles. R tires only have so many cycles in their life. 30-40. You may still have tread left, but the grip will be gone.
