Hey I am so close to getting my mcs on the road but I have a airbag light that I need to get rid of before bringing it in for visual inspection by our highway patrol.

I have cleared most of the airbag codes so far but code 61 passenger seat buckle

keeps popping up...


any clue how to start diagnosing it?

should I try unplugging the connecters and replugging it ... then reset it

will i need to buy a new passenger seat buckle?

help is much appreciated thank you!

if all else fails... anyone know how to take the bulb out haha jk

 

In my state the recertification police inspector always looks to see if the airbag light comes on for a bulb check. If your Mini had deployed airbags then the seat belt pre-tensioner should have fired also. A new buckle will be needed. It is not too expensive and is easy to change.
