Resetting the ABS unit

so, I got the trifect, as described in these threads

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-2002-mcs.html

and per the haynes mini owner manual, it says on page 9-13 it says the abs unit disables itself when low voltage is detected. which it happened when my battery went out. at the same time it killed my abs and got the trifecta.

so after changing the abs sensors and the trifecta still on, how do I reset it?

I did the other reset the ecu which was described in another thread and it still has the problem, any suggestions?

btw I am pern and I reside in az, got a nice mini R53 all black with limo tint cooper S with 110k miles. had this car since 2006 and this car needs some love

the symptoms are that the odometer stopped working, it stuck at 110k miles and the speedometer does not work and I got the trifecta lights.....

cheers

That sounds like a blown fuse. The Speedo is on the same fuse as the asc light, I believe.

They should be in the second and third row from the left in the panel in the driver's driver's footwell. The abs and asc lights are on different fuses; I think one shares a fuse with the tach and the other the Speedo.

I feel you pain though. My light have been on for about 2 months now and nothing seems to work.

I guess ill provide an update, and also need some help. hopefully someone can take the time to help.

my car caught on fire yesterday. luckily I was able to stop it right away since I saw the smoke as soon as I saw the smoke come out of my hood. I disconnected the battery right away and that stopped the fire. I saw that the fire started in this wire harness that is connected to the DSC unit that is near the firewall.

the unit itself is not damaged but the wires are burned up and I need a new wire harness, and I wondered if anybody here knows what the part number and were to find it at? I looked online at realoem.com but I could not find it. hopefully someone has a diagram of where that wire goes so that way I can replace it myself.

now I can see why people get some electrical fire scares with the mini.

looks like the wires were already old and cracked
