Looking at potentially buying 2007 Mini Cooper S

Found a nice Mini Cooper S locally that I am interested in http://www.hhwholesale.net/2007_Mini..._150692995.veh

Is 51K miles too high for the year, guy says there are no mechanical issues but thinking i should get a mechanic to look over it before i even purchase to be safe, Any opinions on it and what would a good buy price be because 18,900 is a little high to me

Also what is that on the front bumper. Thanks for all opinions.

Mileage is not out of ordinary for an 07. In fact, that is only about 9,000 miles per year.

You mean the thing in the grill? Grill badge... it's common on MINIs.

Absolutely have it checked out, especially if he can't produce invoices for routine maintenance and wear-and-tear items recently replaced... pads and rotors, battery, belts, etc. That MINI is in the range where lots of things will need to be replaced soon if they have not been already.

Have a tech check it out, but the price seems high for me. I've got a 2007 that I plan on selling soon for $15-$16, and mine has 50k miles as well.

i'd say it's high, $17k, maybe. My 08 bluebooks $17.5 and I have NAV on top of what is on that one (no sunroof though).

Also, you'll want to check the rubber seal on the front apron, right under the wipers, make sure the rubber is disintegrating into mush.

That's high, especially if it's out of warranty which I think it is - and from a wholesaler?

As a price point, I paid 15k for an 09s with 43k miles in mint condition, with an extra set of tires, back in June from the original owner. Look around, you can do better than that.
