Help! Passenger window stopped working!

I went out and jumped in my car this afternoon, went to roll down both windows, and found out that the passenger side window is not wanting to roll down. I can hear a clicking noise down inside the door down around where the speaker is when I move the window up/down switch.

Did the door motor go bad? I'm assuming that the clicking noise I'm hearing is some kind of motor relay inside the door? Any ideas?

Any help would be great!

prolly your "window regulator"... take off your door. its a sinch: the 2 screws you can see, then another under the reflector (maybe, but you have an older mini, could be different). pry it away, its held on by several BMW style clips around the edges, and metal ones along the window area.

with door apart, try to "feel" the motor when using the switch, see if its working. maybe you can catch where its failing... good luck!

Thanks for the info. I did a little research on here and I saw that some people just thumped on the door on the inside next to where the motor is....and that fixed the problem. Well, I tried it and it worked.

I'm sure it's just a temp fix, so I probably need to pull the motor out and see what's going on with it. It sounds like most door problems are fixed by pulling the door motors apart and cleaning them. I guess I should try that before it stops working again.

if you thumped the motor and it worked again i wouldnt be leaving the window down when rain is coming. This is like smacking a starter with a hammer when the car wont start, it will work once or twice but eventually the motor is going to fail permanently.
