Wife's power steering pump replaced after spontaneous engine compartment fire at same location. Mechanic installed off the shelf brake fluid used in American vehicles - not Pentosin. I understand this will destroy the pump and rack seals. Wife has driven car approx 300 miles since installation. Is it too late, or can system be drained, flushed and refilled properly without worry?
