Light wheels for 09 MC that fit without modification or spacers
Has anyone found any? I ordered 15x7 Kosei K4Rs after telling the rep at Tirerack that I wanted to use them expressly for the track and he told me they would fit fine. Bought them, put them on and drove to Mid-Ohio for the DE this weekend--no noises or anything, all seemed fine. Drove on track Saturday and all still seemed fine but when I took them off at day's end I saw that the rears were hitting the bottom of the cast shock carrier and had machined a light but noticeable groove on the inside of the rim. It wore away a small bit of the carrier as well. When I took the fronts off, I saw that the plastic hubcentric rings had partially welded themselves to the hubs and I had to pry them off with a screwdriver. And, they use "tuner bolts" with a star pattern that you have to use a special tool (supplied) for--not a standard hex head. IMO all this makes these wheels totally unsuitable for the track. Sure wish my SSRs for my 06 fit....
So if you're considering those wheels for the track, DON'T, unless you do some modifications.....still looking.

Was Alex@tirerack.com your salesman? If so then email him to let him know you need alloy centering rings not plastic.
Plastic will melt when used on the front wheels during track or HPDE due to brake heat transferred to the wheels. Pry them loose with a screwdriver and grab them on the outside with a large vise grip plyers.
You can order metal centering rings-

The Kosei K4R 15x7 has an offset of 40mm
For the axle that is rubbing a little you can install a 3mm spacer over the hub then your wheel for a tad more clearance and that should solve your scraping. It is also possible that some wheels rub more than others due to small differences in manufacturing and trueness of each wheel in the area that it may rub.
Spacer

Your local auto parts store might have universal thin wheel spacers, you want thin so you can use your stock studs or bolts without having to install longer studs.

Thanks for the links....my SSRs have metal rings and no problems. I was hoping to avoid using spacers as I'm using the original bolts (wish I could find some standard hex-head bolts that would fit) and it's a pain in the butt trying to line up the holes when you don't have studs.
Tirerack just sent me metal centering rings when I said I was going to use the wheels on the track.
What size are your SSRs and why don't they fit? If its just the bolt size, could you get the holes bored out?
My SSR Type-Cs fit without modification.
