Why do you think MINI only offers black tops on the Roadster?

With the MINI convertible you can select from at least three top colours and I wonder why the Roadster only has black? The Porsche Boxster has four colours to choose from and I like the look of, for example, a blue car with a blue top or contrasting silver with a red top.

What do you think?

I'm guessing that since its a low production vehicle they don't won't the added cost of small batches of other colors...

I'm not sure why but I saw a convertible a couple weeks ago with light brown top. It was rarity to see.

I'm not sure MINI was really very confidence about how many people would want the Roadster. They still aren't ever going to sell enough to offer too many options that they don't offer on all the other Coopers. But who knows, maybe they just like the classic look of a black top on a red roadster.

According to MotoringFile they aren't ever going to supply a JCW suspension for the roadster either although it has been a listed option since day one.
