6 Yr Maintenance Option

Did anyone opt get this? Do you think it is worth paying $2K up front to save $2K in 3-6 years? The business guy at the dealer really pushed this as a great deal which made me pause.

can this be purchased 1,2, 3 months down the road or only at time of sale?

sorry...i thought you were talking about the extended warranty not the maintenance program. i didn't by the maintenance program. for the extended warranty...i was told you can wait and buy it anytime before the new car warranty runs out. and, you can buy it from any mini dealer. so i am going to wait 6 months before my warranty runs out and will shop it amongst the dealers in my area.

Depends what the fine print says. What if the dealer goes out of business? What if you relocate to a different city--is it portable?

On the flip side, if inflation gets out of control, you've bought in at a lower price (unless the fine print states they can charge you more).

I've never been inclined to buy finance room add-ons and didn't for my CM. But I'll do my own oil changes, brakes, etc. so it definitely didn't make sense for me.

It's usable at any MINI dealer, just like the included maintenence.

i got it

beyond the included 3 year maint i figure to get

at least 6 oil/filter changes currently priced at $90.88

2 or 3 sets of brakes pads/discs

2 clutch/brake/coolant fluid changes

air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades and more i can't remember now

the contract says clutch disc is included, i have never replaced a clutch, but if the disc does wear out ... (i had 2 vw rabbits, put well over 100k on each and never replaced a clutch, my 17 yo gmc sonoma v6 4x4 has 287,000 miles on the clutch and is still going strong)

also roadside assistance is included out to the 6 years from the included 4 years

and yes, it can be purchased later, my sister did for her 2009 mcs just after the included maint ran out and she needed brakes all the way around

Definetly shop around for the Maintenance package with different MINI dealerships. I was able to get mine for $1600 and at that price it seemed worth it.
