2005 mini S, Ok i've narrowed my problem to either the harmonic balancer or the tension pulley. Can anyone offer advice on testing either to determine which one is faulty?? Also if it IS the balancer, what size socket is used to remove the retaining bolt?? Thanks and God Bless!!

OP didn't list any symptoms. What are yours?

 

Random noise, diesel sound/deck of cards hitting bike spokes, kind of noise. It occurs sometimes, sometimes loud sometimes quiet. I drove it cold in the morning, and at boost my car shuttered and went into safe mode, cel came on. Restarted the car, runs fine, with no cel. Supercharger is still strong, but scared to push it. I rarely drive hard. Never redlined. R53 6sp. Thanks for the help guys.
