Strut Tower Replacement?? Please HELP!!

Ok....new to the forum. 2005 Mini S Super Charged Auto. I just replaced my strut tower on the passenger side. Got everything back together and now it sounds as if something is loose. The only thing I noticed is that the nut holding the shock to the inside of the tower will not tighten. It simply spins and the inner shaft of the shock spins. The drivers side it tight as can be.......any suggestions???

Would a thin spacer help?

Not that you want extra spacers for this normally.

What about the stock tower plate being bent already so when you fit on the additional plate it is not flat- then adding a thin spacer could help tighten things down.

If the stock tower plate is bent then a hammer might be able to reduce the uneveness.

i ended up putting a washer between the tower and the strut. That fixed the problem. At least it was something simple....thanks for the response!!

Ideally best to restore both strut towers flat before putting on new shock mounts on both sides simultaneously to avoid alignment issues. Then, it's highly recommended to add strut tower plates to keep em flat.
