Help with brake stiffening bushings from Way Motor Works
Help with brake stiffening bushings from Way Motor Works
Can anyone who has installed these tell me if what is pictured is a bad thing...

There's about 1/8" to 1/4" gap between where the snap ring goes and the back of the caliper. This allows the bushing to move back and forth in the caliper. Is this what it's supposed to do? Note: this is NOT the tyrolsport kit. However, I actually thought I bought the tyrolsport kit from WMW, but now I see the tyrolsport is listed on a different page on their site for the same price with grease and slightly different rings. So I talked to the WMW guy and he, a bit condescendingly, assured me that "all these kits are made the same". However, I don't thnk I ever really got my point across. Called tyrolsport..they wanted pics..I sent this pic...they said doesn't look good and it might not be a correct kit...said it should only have at most 1/16" between snap ring and caliper.

Additionally, some folks have had similar issues: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...63-post36.html
Although the bushings extend further out than is necessary, these should function without issue(assuming the unnecessary length doesn't interfere with something else).
We make our bushings specific to various chassis and brake calipers, so that every fitment is as close to perfect as possible.

Yes that is how they fit, that is how every brand of those brake stiffening bushings has fit. There is no with the length of the bushing as that has no effect on how the bushing works, actually it would probably be better for it to be longer as there would be more surface area for the pin to contact, this would help with the bushing trying to rock.
Update
Ok well here's the problem I see with the bushings being around 1/4" too long...
I'm currently having issues with rocking steering wheel and pulsing brake pedal under braking. Classic signs of "warpage" one would think. Well, I had all the new powerslot rotors I installed checked for runout today and they all checked out perfect. So I started checking everything I installed during the brake job: pads, SS lines, caliper bushing kit, cleaned up the hub surface and rebled the system. Everything looked ok, but I noticed when the brake was applied, the caliper bushings were moving instead of the caliper pins! Now I'm not saying this is what's causing my issue, but this is not what the kit is intended to do. Worst case, there could be some binding because there's no pin lube between the bushing and caliper. I'll say it again, I don't think I got a correct kit, or it wasn't machined right.
WayMotorWorks, I sent you a PM.
