New Owner

Hi all. been looking at a Mellow Yellow 2009 JCW for the last couple of weeks. Finally pulling the trigger today.

There's an entire subforum devoted to the known issues with the second gen MINIs. Take a look around and you'll quickly find the cars' weak points. High pressure fuel pump, thermostat housing and turbo oil line are a few other known issues.

Yes, if the timing chain tensioner starts to go bad, you'll get the "death rattle". Search this forum for that phrase and prepare to spend a few days reading.

No problems with Clubman sunroof and have not heard of any.

My sunroof works great, doesn't rattle, and I don't have wind noise.
I only wish it opened with one touch.

My rear sunroof's left side motor went out, but it was replaced under warranty and works like it should now.
