New to me 2005 maint Questions

We just picked up a 2005 MC with 108K and I already have a list of things to
check thanks to this board!

Signed up at Mini Owner's Lounge and got the service history.

Last service indicated was 10/08 Inspection (II) which appears to include:
Change CVT (automatic) transmission fluid
Replace poly V-belt
Inspect everything.
66 K miles

So, do you think the Dealer actually changed the trans fluid?
The fluid change was at the top of my list, but if chances are good that it was done as stated, then I'll do the power steering pump
service (as recommended here) first, along with checking everything you guys think should be checked now, and do a trans fluid change in the next month or two.

If you have any doubt, go ahead and change the transmission fluid. You can never be too sure and it wouldn't hurt.

Hey Ed (or others),

What is this "Mini Owner's Lounge"? And where is it? I also have a 2005 that I have had about 6 months, and it now has 135k miles... (so far, so good)...

Wondering what else has happened to my MC before I got it.

Thanks for the info!

Owner's Lounge

Here's the link.

https://ol.miniusa.com/Home/Login?TY...th%2fhome.aspx

You'll have to register, and then go to "your MINI" at the top of the welcome page.
Then select "service log". This will produce a log of Dealer service events for your Mini.

If you click on "details" for each service, you will get the mileage the service was
performed at. You will have to check in the "Maintenance schedule" to see exactly
what each service covers.

You're overdue for another CVT fluid change -- it was 42,000 miles since it was changed and should be changed every 28,000

CVT Fluid

Just picked up a 2005 R50 (automatic) with 72K miles and want to do some preventative maintenance on the CVT (heard horror stories about CVT failures). Does anyone know if there is a recommended tune-up kit or at least know where to purchase the CVT fluid (dealer wants way too to service!)?

Thanks.
