Mini making funny knocking noise

Not sure if it is loud enough to be a serious issue. Stays the same speed when the engine revs. I checked the oil and it is good. Is this the timing chain tensioner issue? If it is what do I need to do to fix it?

Hope it's not the charger.

It stops when I depress the clutch. I searched and figured it out. Apparently there's some sort of bearing that needs to be replaced.

Hey 845, mine makes the same sound. But I have the aspirated one. It also stops when I depress the clutch. It is far more noticeable when the engine is cold.
Where did you search? in this forum? Thanks

Clutch-related bearing? Is it the throw-out bearing?

most likely the throwout bearing unless you installed a lightweight single mass flywheel or the previous owner did without you knowing about it. Throwout bearings on these car are part plastic and have been known to fail. Some fail like yours and only cause strange noises, and some fail like mine which would be by exploding and showering the transmission case with little bearings and causing me to have no control over the clutch at all. I would recommend you change out the clutch as well if your car is near or past 100K miles and still on the original clutch as the labor is practically the exact same as just doing the throwout bearing alone.
