I just got a couple of notices about a class action lawsuit about stress cracks in 1st gen MINIs' windshields. The windshield was pretty notorious for cracking with no obvious provocation, it happened to us with Quentin, so I'm not entirely surprised by this. The proposed settlement is they'll pay your bill for replacing the windshield. The catch is they'll want documentation of the repair, amounts etc.

I'd be interested in the settlement, it was an annoying $600 to have the dealer replace the windshield. We're not sure if we could find the documentation though.

Depending on where you had the glass replaced, you should be able to get a copy of the repair order/receipt from them easy enough. Good Luck!
