anyone know what this is?

Hello all - attempting to install my Craven Speed strut defenders in my '12 hardtop, and on the right side, it fits. On the left (driver's) side, there's a small plastic piece sticking up that interferes. It's clear that Craven expected it to be coming out of the hole closest to the firewall b/c there's a relief for it in the strut defender (the relief is located in the correct place on the rh part). Anyone know what this is, if it can be moved or removed? I'd rather not drill another relief hole in the strut defender, but that's what it may come to... Thanks.

It centers the strut mount in the strut tower. It can be removed or cut off.

I removed mine so that i could get just a little more camber in the front. As Professor stated it just there to center the strut. and really only used during assembly. Many people take them out.
