New to the forum!

New member to the forum as of today! Looking to buy my first mini, and have some questions I'm hoping you can answer.
I am looking at a 2007 S hardtop, with 42k miles. Has the cold weather package, automatic, and all-season tires. Asking price is $17k.

I am a current BMW 325i owner, so I am familiar with the quality, service, CPO, etc.
What specifics, though, should I look for in this mini?
What is the model designation (ie E92, F90, etc.) for this car so I can do some research on recalls, etc.?
Any mechanical / warranty issues that i should look for in this model year?
Reliability?

Now for some strange questions...
I am looking for a base seat cover to reduce the blistering heat impact while wearing shorts. I thought you weren't supposed to cover the seat back, due to the airbags? But that is all I can find online. Any ideas?
Fuel type? I've been told premium only, but have a neighbor with a '06 who has only used regular with no issues. Thoughts?
Clear Bra covers for the front end. Where is the best place to look?

Thanks in advance for your feedback. Looking forward to the responses.

First, welcome!

Read through this part of the forum. It'll have all you need to know about the mechanical weaknesses of the R56 (the model designation of the car you described).

If you're familiar with BMW, then you understand these cars are not trouble free. But they sure are fun!

MINI says the MCS should get premium only, that's what I give mine.
