R56 Painting chrome trim help
Painting chrome trim help
I just got my MCS this past friday and I know some people love the chrome headlight rings and taillight rings but I don't lol!!! I have a off white color MCS. I ordered those pieces to have them painted the same as the exterior color. Has anyone been able to sand over the chrome to get rid of it and paint it blk or whatever or can I send these pieces in to have them done? I looked in to vinyl but... I'd rather have them painted. I was hoping to do it but I can't find any steps how to.
Go to the hardware store & buy some muriatic acid.
Soak the parts in it for a day or two 'till the chrome's all gone & ruff up the parts with 800 grit sand paper or your paint will chip off really quickly.

If you want to send them out to get painted contact OrangeCrush. He does this service for a lot of guys here. He makes sure to get the paint to stick properly to those chrome pieces since he has his own body shop. He can paint match or do whatever black finish you want.
