R50/53 How to adjust
How to adjust
I've searched, with no luck, for any info on how to adjust the front bumper cover, and the bonnet.
When Ralph Schomp MINI replaced my clutch and tranny, they did a horrible job putting everything back together, and now things are misaligned and the DDM Works CAI is rubbing the bonnet. Some of the insulation has already rubbed away, and I have a loud vibration unless I hold the bonnet down by hand, which is hard to do while driving!
Anybody have experience with this?
I'm sure it's not that hard to do, just looking for some direction before I start.

I am in the process of rebuilding a salvaged Mini and from what I did for adjusting hood they have absolutely no business messing with hood when replacing clutch.
There are 4 points of adjustments for the hood. At the hinges which hold the hood at 4 locations.
At the hood catches on the either sides of the frame also determines where the hood will be after it closes. But there isn't much adjustment that can be made there.
In terms of adjusting bumpers, on both corners of the radiator support #5 in the picture #6 can be adjusted vertically as you loosen #8.
Hope that helps.

I did get the rattle fixed. It was a combination of adjusting the bonnet, and latches. As for the bumper cover, I'm gonna need to do a little more work. Thanks for the info DailyDrivenMini. It turned out to be relatively easy. My problem is, this is the first car I've owned that was worth a darn. Most of my vehicles have been P.O.S. cars and I didn't ever work on them except for a car stereo here and there. I just want to make sure I've done my research before I screw something up.
As for why I didn't take it back to them, I live in Las Vegas now, and Ralph Schomp is in Denver. I wouldn't go back to them anyway because of the way I was treated. They didn't seem to want my business, and I felt like I was an afterthought to them. Plus there were damages to my MINI that occurred while they had it, that they denied having anything to do with. I have gotten to the point where if I can do it myself, I'll give it a try.
It's hard for me to trust someone else with my MINI.
