Anyone else have heated seat problems like these?

Ever since I got my Mini I've been noticing that while I vacuum it out, I kept seeing crumbled foam under my seat along the rocker side. This has been going on for a while and I'd also noticed that the heated seats were getting a little too heated... especially a month or so ago on a cool morning when my wife used the car and said that the seats burned her leg (well it was red). Also seemed like the pleather was developing "folds" or high points on the bolsters and the pleather was lifting and cracking. I went to Mini and they replaced the lower seat. I picked the car up and the lower seat looked nice and puffy again, but I didn't look close enough because I noticed that the upper bolster is also cracking from the heat. The passenger side seat hasn't cracked, but it too is developing the same kind of "folds" in the material and looks like cr*p. I called the service person back and she's going to get back to me about bringing it back in and looking at it. My warranty runs out this month but this is an open issue. I'm assuming that they will fix both seats properly. A car that has 32K on it shouldn't have seats that are falling apart regardless of brand whether its a Hyundai or a Mercedes.

Just wondering out loud if anyone else has had similar problems with heated seats crumbling, overheating, burning the foam, or pleather cracking prematurely because of heat?

My heated seats get very hot on high and, when I use the heat, I have them set on low. I usually turn them off after a short time because they get too hot. I complained to the dealer about them, but they looked at it and said they were normal.

I thought there was a thread or two on here last year with complaints about the seats getting too hot and a dealer fix, but I'm not sure where.

This happened on my mother's X5. She brought it to the dealer and said "fix it" and they ended up replacing the seats. It's not normal. I hope you extended your warranty!

I think that since I had the one seat fixed two weeks ago and then I called back within 10 days saying its still not right, they will fix it. I'm not extending the warranty... I did that once on a car and wound up selling it 6 months after I extended it. I don't know how long I'll keep this car, but all the other normal headaches have been addressed, especially the water pump, timing chains and all that crap. I think they've replace the whole front (side) of the motor less than 1000 miles ago. My wife is nagging me to get an automatic, but I'm thinking thats 2 years out... it only has 32K on it and it looks great.
