Newbie Tire help!

I've always gone with Conti Pros on my R52, and I'm looking to break out into my other options since I'm due for a full set. It seems like a lot of people agree that the Kumho Ecsta 4x is a good all season normal driving choice.
I'd like to stick to 15" for MPG and (correct me if I'm wrong) length of wear.

So what I'm stuck on is that I'm TOTALLY confused by what I can and cannot do to stay within the parameters of stock for the sake of odometer and MPH readings.

Tire Rack has 185/55R15 and and 195/55R15 in stock, but having plugged in my Mini, it only lists the 195/55R16 and 205/45R17 as sizes that will "fit".

Help out a newb!

What size 15in tires are currently on your R52?
Isn't the OEM size a 175/65-R15 tire?
Enter that size into TireRack and choose accordingly.

You are correct, OEM is 175/65-15.
But the problem is that the Kumho Ecsta 4X isn't carried on TireRack in those specs. My question is: will either 185/55R15 or 195/55R15 do the job? Will that mess with the odometer / spedometer / general driving? How close to spec would one be recommended to stay?

Talk to Alex at Tirerack. He is very knowledgeable on MINIs. Tirerack.com also has info regarding tire OD and rotations per mile (not sure if those are the exact units) that will let you see impact on speedometer vs. stock. My '09 R57 came with 17" 205/45 but I replaced with 215's after talking to Alex. I experienced no problems and better grip.
