What was wrong with yours? Mine has tiny crystals of some sort growing on the metal wings encased in the clear plastic. I have watched them form slowly over the last few years. No plans to replace it.

 

I only found one option for the center piece in the wheel and that is the two in the first picture since you can not buy the center from mini. I sent the local vinyl wrap company the old cap, they made me a vinyl sticker which i carefully put onto the aftermarket checkered flag cap. The aftermarket cap has two sided tape on the back.
The only other option is to buy another steering wheel :/
