'06 MCS Interior Q: Leather, or Pleather, or...what is it!?

'So,
'Couple months ago, I purchased an '06 MCS. I thought the interior upholstery was leather. But, now, I'm thinking it's some kind of synthetic. Is there a way to find out whether or not I do have leather? Either way--it doesn't really matter to me, so long as it looks nice; which, thanks to the previous owner, it still does. If the upholstery is indeed fake, or leatherette (or whatever they call it), what would be the best way to clean, and care for the leatherette, or pleather, or whatever it might be?

Thanks, in advance, folks. Motor on! !

Leather seats come with lumbar adjustment, which is controlled by round ***** on the inboard sides of the seat backs (above the parking brake handle). The leatherette (and cloth) seats don't have the **** there, so that's probably the easiest way to tell which you have.

I have the leatherette seats in my 2006 and like them much better than the leather seats in the '03. You can clean and care for them with whatever vinyl cleaner and dressing you like. I use Griot's interior cleaner followed by their vinyl and rubber dressing.

Since day one of ownership I have regularly used Vinylex or Meguiar's vinyl cleaner/conditioner. Seats still look new after 6 years.

If my description didn't make sense, here's a shot of the lumbar adjustment **** from the owner's manual.
