Sorry for the lame question, but I need to know exactly what tools I need to remove the oil filter on a 2009 S. This is all the more lame since I have done this job myself a couple of changes ago. However, the car is 1400miles away and I am flying to my relocation motel where I will do the oil change.
Anyway, I had used a socket (I think) on end of the filter; what size is that? Also, what tool is used for the coolant overflow res? I totally forgot, thanks so much for the help. OH, and i'm going to fly with this stuff, including the vacuum suck device, hope TSA lets it all fly..

 

On my 2009 R55:
coolant overflow tank = 8mm hex socket
oil drain plug (if used) = 8mm allen socket
oil filter housing = 1-1/16" socket

Actually it's a 27 mm socket for the ol filter.

Actually... it's both.

1 1/16" = 26.9875mm

 

We have a kit that includes the tools if that helps.
