How to remove upper dash air vent

Does anyone know how to get access to the locking screw that I'm sure is holding down that oval shaped small air vent in the center of the dash board just below the windshield?
It has a light sensor built into the forward edge of itself. The little cover pops off of the solar sensor and the front edge of the vent cover closest to the car's interior has tabs on it, but the forward edge by the solar sensor won't pry loose. I need to get the trim ring that surrounds the center Nav screen off. I popped off the grey trim piece off and removed the four torn screws but the ring is incorporated into those three dash "humps". I'm pretty sure that to remove the ring/humps, the center vent grill up top needs to come off.
Anyone?
