Calling all Mini's June 30—July 01, 2012
Reno SCCA is holding a two day track event and you are invited. Come with a group or an individual enthusiast, we will do our best to make you feel at home. Whether an experienced track day driver, racer or a novice we have a group for you. The fabled 2.8 mile Course “B” at Reno-Fernley Raceway will be utilized.
Classroom and in-car instruction is provided for all beginner and intermediate level PDX drivers and is available for advanced drivers that wish to hone their skills.
All groups will have six 20 or 25 minute sessions on track.
(PDX) Performance Driving Experience is instruction on driving at
speed on a race track, with both classroom and in-your-car-at speed instruction. You drive your own car, and progress at your own pace. You're taught the fundamentals of performance driving: from how to grip the steering wheel and operate the pedals, to vision techniques and learning the "line" through the corners. All of this on a real racetrack with qualified instructors in the passenger seat. In between track sessions you get classroom time to ask questions and download what you've learned. Separate groups will be available for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Drivers.
SCCA membership and government issued driver’s license are required.
Fees & Registration:
$225 Pre-Registration or $250 walk-on
$15.00 Weekend Membership
Lunch Available $5.00
Loaner Helmets Available
Water provided for all participants
End of day hosted social for everyone

This sounds enticing, last time I ran a SCCA event has been a while and ran E street prepared, I'd have to learn about the current rules yet my upgrades will push me into the No longer stock group, yet it would still be fun.
