My first car ever :)
My first car ever :)
Hello everyone just wanted to introduce you to this guy
I just bought this 2002 R50, sexy BRG. I got it with 80,000 miles and running great.
I know the picture sucks, Ill take some more tomorrow. Any advice for keeping him running, and things I should be extra careful are very welcome.
Im thinking of adding some white viper bonnet stripes, and only that for the moment cause I'm poor

Welcome to NAM! And great choice for a first car
My MINI is my 3rd car lol. Can't see the pic, but I hope to see some soon! I love the viper stripes too. Second in choice for me though, as I have another design in mind!

Welcome. I happen to like BRG R50s. My advice is to not get caught up in all the paranoia on this site, if you can help it. Yes, cars break down. But don't worry if it's not happening to you. Worrying won't make your car any more reliable, and you will wind up imagining problems that aren't even there. From a proactive standpoint: If you have a 5 speed, change that trans oil right away, and probably every 40k from then on. I know MINI says it's lifetime - don't believe it. If you have a CVT, change the fluid right away, and follow the schedule from here on. I believe it's 28k or something low like that.
Welcome to the MINI world! Nice first car! My first car was a Vega. You don't see many (or ANY) of them around any more... For good reason. Your MINI might not last forever, but the fondness for it will always be with you.
