BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2's!! on order
BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2's!! on order
Just released from BFGoodrich is the new the G-Force Sport Comp 2.
I'm in no way associated with BFG or this product but I am very excited to put a set on my band new Tenzo Type M wheels next week and let everybody know how they do.
This is an Ultra High Performance Summer tire replacing the old G-Force Sport. Basically the same tread design, but with a new belt package and most importantly an all new rubber compound. It competes with the less expensive tires in the summer performance category, and I was very impressed with the performance of the original tire. I had a set on my Mazda3 and they had very good grip and response. My only complaint would be the ride. The sidewalls were very stiff, so you could feel almost any crack/bump/rock on the road. Compared to other tires I have driven on (Bridgestone REO760, Continental ContiExtremeContact DW, Yokohama S Drives, and Nitto NeoGen) the first generation G-force Sports were the harshest ride, but gave the most performance in return.
I drive around town, side roads, freeways, twisty-turny's, and round-abouts, never on a track. So my reviews will be based on my experiences and driving style...(to the limits of the public roads, haha). My MINI is basically stock but I'm running H&R springs and the tires will be 215/45-17 on a 7" wide wheel with a 42 offset.
I'll let everybody know what I think about this brand new tire as soon as I drive enough to write a proper review
Anybody out there interested in these tires? ordered them? thinking about it? let me know so we can chat it up.
Thanks,
D

I just put these on my car I do 1-2 track days a month when it is warm around here, they were ok last weekend but I think it may have been a little cold out, the temp was 60 degrease and it misted on and off throughout the day. I have another track tad then race memorial day weekend hopefully its warmer out! I use them on my car daily and the ride is a little more harsh but not unbearable, did you get yours on yet?
Please share your ongoing impressions on the new BFGs. I drive an '06 MCS - basically stock. Previously ran Michelin PE2s and Bridgestone RE760s sized 205x50x16. Loved the Michelins - but they were no longer available. The Bridgestone were good - a little softer turn-in respone than the Michelins.
I'm looking at the G-Force Sport Comp 2. I like a responsive tire. Stiff sidewall sounds good to me. They can't be as harsh as the OE runflats. Please report on your ongoing impressions. One thing I've always liked about Michelins is that they're round. Really! Michelin Quality Control is high. Are the BFGs smooth and fairly quite on the highway or what? Thanks, Bruce

I like the tires overall, they do wear kind of funny but I also do drive the car on the track about once a month, in an auto-x they almost aren't sticky but I want r-compounds enough but for street driving they are awesome! especially for the price with the $50 rebate I only paid around $550 installed with the warranty for each tire and a tpms rebuild kit (I guess you need it). but I would recommend these tires for a fun summer driver, and I would get them again myself.
