Everyone,
I have a neighbor who is an SA for MINI.
Yesterday when I showed him the carbon build-up on the intake valves of my 2007 MCS (obviously not the first time for him) he mentioned to me that they had the walnut shell blasting machine and that the procedure was ~$825 which included the "blue" injector cleaner treatment as well. I have seen the results in other posts and, given how my back feels after being bent-over my MINI for ~2 days, I may go-for it next time! The "walnut blasting" results make the intakes look brand-new!
Additionally, he told me that last ~November MINI issued a SW update to help address the carbon build-up issue. Between the intake valve cleaning, SW update and OCC coming from BSC, I hope to be good-to-go for some-time!

Where you located? I'm going to get mine done at 40k miles at Motoring Magic in Thousand Oaks CA for $425. They have the machine and I've seem the results...absolutely fantastic! Takes about 3 hours. I've already bought the BSH OCC to install when I get it done.

 

I'm in Santa Cruz,CA but, SA is in Santa Clara CA...let em know how it goes for you at $425!
