I might have the opportunity to buy some used Kozei K1s 17x7.5 from a friend who currently has them on his 03 Mini S. What would be a fair price if they are in good/great conditon? I see retail on tire rack they are 179.00. What is the best tire,( not run-flat), that will fit, not rub on the Mini S and has excellent street/ occasional autoX traction?

Tires, occasional autox, 215/45 gives you good comfort. And there are 30 tires in that size from TireRack for Max and Ultra performance. Suggestions, in order of price: AVS ES100, Kumho MX, GY GS-D3, PZero Nero, KDW2, S-03 PP. Price/performance with comfort, the ES100s are tough to beat. The MXs will be an excellent autox choice for the stiff sidewalls. The GS-D3, Nero and KDW2 are within 5 bucks of each other. The GS-D3 are comfortable with better grip than the ES100. The Nero is a compromise of sidewall stiffness and ultimate grip but should be an excellent all-around tire. The KDW2 was designed for wet traction first (if you face a lot of rain.) The S-03 PP is a great tire for all occasions but is at least $20 more than the other tires listed. My next tires will be either the MX or the Neros but I hope to autox more than occasionally.
