R56 Antenna on an R53 - Done

So I am toying around with my (new to me) 2005 MCS. Decided to add the factory Sirius radio. Much to my surprise Mini discontinued the antenna. Did some searching and found that even if you came with Sirius from the factory you had to go with the magnetic or stick-on antenna. Well.. That wasn't going to work in my book...

Scavenged an antenna from an R56 at the auto-recycler. Plug and play from the electronics side, just need to make the cutout for the AM/FM portion of the antenna in the roof of your car. I would rate it a 2-star on the difficulty scale. Took about an hour from start to finish and the end result is not only factory but the AM reception is much better than before. (I'm old and listen to talk radio).

For the wiring, The black coax (FM) for the old plugs right into the connector that is cast into the base. The black single wire needs to have a new connector (salvaged from doner car) grafted on the end and it provides the AM signal. Pink is the Sirius connector and the last 2 will allow me to add navigation and telephone at a later time.

Will post pictures later. Works great and looks great!
