R60 April Incentives for Countryman?
April Incentives for Countryman?
Has anyone who has recently order or talked to their dealer heard what the April incentives for the Countyman will be? My MINI should be at the dealer by the 29th of March and if it is, I will be picking it up on March 31st. The current incentive is on the interest rate which will be 2.9% for 60 months. I had heard rumor that they were going to drop the rate to 0.9% for 60 months. I would hate to puchase on the 31st and have the rate drop by 2% overnight...
I have been hunting down incentives on the internet. Mini seems to hold their cards very close to their chest.
My wife just purchased a 2012 MCS hardtop for $2k under MSRP of $32.2k. The Countryman in stock at the dealership has an MSRP of $36k exactly and I was going in at $33k and would settle at $33.5k ($2500 off MSRP).
Anyone with experiences please post.

My MA told me that they were offering 0.9 for 32 months, 1.9 for 48 to 60 months and 2.9 for 72 months. I will be (hopefully) taking deliver in early April, so he might have been talking about April incentives. I was also able to get some knocked off of the MSRP.
In one of the other forums someone had mentioned that there was going to be another $750 off incintive in April. I'm hoping to take delivery before the end of the month too but if that's the case I may wait an extra day or 2... My dealer assured me that the financing when I ordered would still be honored when I picked it up (0.9% for 36 mos). I got $1500 off the "build price" and would love another $750 but it may not be worth it to give up the 0.9% (I do plan on paying it off in >18mos as well). What do you guys think?
I was told by my MA, that the financing that you lock into when you applied, (I locked into the 0.9 as well) is set. So it doesn't expire, regardless of when your Mini comes in. But, if there are better offers out there, you can always change to that. If it get's worse, you're still safe with the locked in 0.9.
So, if there is a $750. incentive when I take delivery, how do I ask for it. Do MA's just automatically give it? Or do I need to negotiate that?
Hope that makes sense.

As far as the asking for it goes, I think I'm going to ask if there is "any thing extra I get for ordering a brand new car" and then ask about the extra $750 off
You probably won't know what the April incentives are until April. Mini as well as many other car manufacturers keep that information tight, as it may hinder sales rather than help sales.
But right now Countryman are selling like hot cakes so I would expect either Mini will keep the deals consistent for awhile to keep sales up, or remove the incentives entirely as they might not be necessary for good sales.
If gas prices continue to climb then incentives might disappear, because a lot of people will be thinking about ditching those big SUV gas guzzlers for an economical SUV.
