JCW Roadster on Boat but I am going nuts!

Well my Lightning Blue, JCW Roadster, with Recaro seats and JCW leather dash is on the Asian King and has officially left port bound for Panama and then Port Hueneme.

I ordered back on Feb 1, so it has been a 42 day wait already. Now it is 3 weeks to Port Hueneme, 1 week to my dealer, and 3-5 days for my dealer to prep with accessories.

My guesstimate is now about a 32 day wait left but I am going nuts. I am obsessively calling Ask Mini, checking the marine tracking sites, checking this forum, searching for youtube JCW Roadster videos, etc, etc,

Is there any help for this OCD behavior?

Only death or maybe a sex change. It's not so much OCD as it is boy wants his toy. The only consolation I can offer is anticipation IS part of the fun and process. Without it you would not appreciate it near as much.

Now for my expert analyses you MUST post at least 10 detailed inside and out photos within 48 hours of receiving your JCW.

Well, you can go to this web page:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...MMSI=357074000

and then click on the "Current Vessel's Track" about 10 times a day to help pass the time. At about 15 knots, it doesn't move very fast.

My Countryman's on the Asian King also.

Thanks for the reply. You know it would be nice if mini placed a webcam in the storage bay so that I could watch over my vehicle 24/7.

Good luck with the Countryman, Steve. It is nice to have a shipmate on the forum board.

Keep doing what you are doing, posting, searching, re-reading previous articles, looking for anything new That's what I have been doing while I wait for a production slot Order parts for a car you don't yet have(shorty antenna is sitting on my desk). Then, after that happens, I'll have what seems like forever to take delivery. Ahhh, delayed gratification

I'll add my voice to the "no cure" answer.

I wish MINI would make the owners manual available online, as previous versions have been. At least then you could study up on the features while you wait!

I mainly drove my wife and friends crazy.

I agree Don.

The 2012 models have been available since September 2011. It is now Mid-March 2012. It is about time that the 2012 manuals be put online.

When my sister ordered her MINI back in 2008 she tracked it coming across the ocean as well. She ordered it in July and it arrived in September. At that time of the year there are numerous hurricanes as you near South America. For a few days the ship did not report in as it was not moving. They were waiting for the storms to blow through before moving on. She just knew that the ship had sunk. I had to talk her down.

When it finally arrived in California at Port Hueneme, one of the others on the shared thread also taking delivery of a car, actually drove to Port Hueneme to take pictures of the ship as they unloaded MINIs.

When your ship goes through the Panama Canal, their is a live webcam that you can view on the internet and watch your ship pass through the locks. Take screen shots, etc.

Start a scrap book for your soon to be new arrival, it will pass the time. You can also redecorate the garage and think of names for the new MINI. How about a MINI shower? The possibilities are endless, ha ha.

What a great site! I'd been using http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...ml?call=9V8796 to track the Don Juan, but your site is way cooler...

I ordered mine on 1/24/12 and I picked it up from the dealer on 3/22/12. It came throuigh the canal on 3/6 so it was a little over 2 weeks after entering the canal. Good luck...hope you are wrong about the 32 day wait left.

Well the Asian King should be going through the Panama Canal tomorrow, so the wait is down to about 18 days now.

The Asian King is close enought to land to be tracked again, it's near the Panama Canal on the Caribbean side. Hope it doesn't have to wait too long in line to go through the canal.

Hope it has a nice trip...

Mine landed in New York at the weekend, at the dealer by Wednesday, so I should have it by the weekend!

Wow! Congrats Spiney! Heres hoping you have your new ride by this weekend.

According to the shipping schedule the Asian King is due to dock in Manzanillo Port on the 26th and depart on the 27th. The Manzanillo Port is on the other side of the Panama Canal so I would expect the Asian King to pass through the canal soon.

Better be watching your webcam of the panama canal this afternoon.

Mine arrived at the dealer yesterday. The registration paperwork is tricky (long story) but I should get it on Saturday.

The worst part of it is I'll probably have to drive the 50 miles to go there on Thursday night, sign some papers, then COME HOME WITHOUT IT and go back a day or two later to pick it up.

My ship docked in Baltimore yesterday afternoon, and yes, I went down to meet it! It was definately full of Minis but didn't see any JCW roadsters get off, for some reason they wouldn't let me help?!? I dropped by the dealer and they told me they will pick it up as soon as it is released, maybe today or tomorrow and with any luck I will have it for the weekend! Now I am excited!

Nice, you got to get to the docks...very cool. Take your camera with you to the dealer, I never tire of seeing the new pics
