What do the MINI owners here believe?

A MINI S that gets, after the original purchase, the JCW Tuning Kit. Does it then = the JCW Factory car and get classified exactly as such?

 

Just like it says in your signature. Its a Cooper S with the JCW tuning kit or a Stage 1.

hey Charlie -- I'm already signed up for the 4/7 even, it's precisely why I'm trying to figure it out... last year I did STX. But now I'm being suggested that I can stick in stock...

The thread that works hardest on this matter is here. I was left without any clear conclusion though, due to the difference between port installed versus dealer installed.

The 2012 rule book excludes the following cars from Stock: "MINI Cooper S JCW (dealer installed) (2002-05)" It also places into D Stock "Cooper S JCW (2006-12)"

The wording in the STX section is "Cooper S & Cooper S JCW (incl. 2004-05 dealer-installed)".
