Questions on squeaks and A Arm Bushings before bringing in 2010 MCSc into Dealer
I'm bringing in my new-to-me convertible into the dealer to check some things out.
1. I hear thunking from both doors at the rear edge when I go over bumps or even accelerate. It sounds like there is movement at the door latches. Is this normal? Is the convertible that flexible? Even my 97 Miata didn't do that, although it had been stiffened.
2. I had a pre-purchase inspection and they said that my front A-arm bushings were soft, but not urgent to replace. When I talked to a Service Advisor he said that was very unusual in the Second Gen MINIs, but common in the first gen. Is he shining me on? Assuming they say that the bushing's are bad, what are the chances of getting aftermarket bushing's installed from a dealer if I supply them?
Thanks,
Larry
