Fiberglass front ends.

I notice mostly all people who make a zcar mini use the fiberglass front ends, but where do people get them in the USA? or do we have to order them from the UK?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Fibregl...1#ht_785wt_938

This is really all I have found, the price is decent (I think) but he won't message me back about the shipping, and I don't like dealing with sellers that don't communicate.

So, zcars usa mini drivers, where is the best place to get them?

face it ... the VAST majority of Mini parts you are going to get today ARE coming from the UK. This works one of two ways

1. You can order from a UK supplier and the shipping on a large odd sized part like this is gonna make you gasp, and btw expect a little love note from US Customs

2. Order from a US supplier - who then orders from a UK supplier and combines this into a bulk order. HOPEFULLY, he fills a container and passes his bulk shipping savings to you .... but I would not hold my breath on that.

This is not something I'd trust to E-Bay, but I had good luck thru MiniMania when I trashed the bonnet part of the picture you show .... I use that same 2 part glass front.

Thanks!

like I said, I only bought a bonnet. My car had a complete glass front end - the one with the sep' bonnet - when I bought it. It was and is MiniMania MS114

in 04 the cost was $125, and the shipping via UPS was $50

The quality of the part was good, not best. Some prep work before painting was needed. Prep and paint cost me $340 and was the deciding factor in my taking classes in body repair and automotive painting.

This raises a good point. From talking to people who have fitted these front ends you shoud expect a fair amount of fitting to be required.... they seldom "drop in" Plenty of folks beginning the job come by to take long hard looks at how mine was done. Having the two piece one, it is not a flip front. The bonnet comes off and the fenders remain in place, the bonnet is not hinged but clips on. The fender/grill portion can be removed in about 5 minutes via a handfull of screws and four clips and two pins. There is one multi prong connector for all the lights.

Try Mini Spares or ABS, both very good quality. ABS sells a round nose and Clubman Front end.
