Am I asking for trouble with these BBS Reps?

Hey all,

Been lurking a while but this is my first post. I recently bought an 06 jcw and am looking at some BBS Rep wheels in 18x7.5 et40. I'm sure the hub won't be the right size so I already plan to get an adapter. Is there anything with the lug hole size I need to be concerned with? Also, I was planning to run 215 40's but I'm not sure which tire model yet. Anyone running BBS reps that can comment?

thanks
Ken

What was the build month (it's on the driver's-side door jamb) of your '06? If if was July 2006 or later, you probably have the 14 mm lug bolts, which don't fit through the lug holes of many aftermarket wheels. The earlier 12 mm bolts (pre-July 2006) will work with just about any wheels, though.

The hub diameter for the MINI is 56.15 mm. Most wheels have center bores that are larger than that, so an adapter is probably all that you'll need, but it's worth checking. I know that some people have been burned trying to use Miata wheels that have a smaller bore.

Thanks for the insight. My build month is 11/05 so would be the 12mm. I'll find out the exact hub diameter before I buy so I know I'll be able to get an adapter that will work.

thanks
Ken
