New Car for $1,000!
New Car for $1,000!
Well, sort of. I had a set of 18 inch Bridgestone Potenzas put on my CM yesterday.
So far, I am VERY pleased. So much quieter, and excellent feel.
I looked at the same size Conti DWS's, too, but opted for the Bridgestones. Maybe $100-$200 cheaper, in total, to have gone with the Contis if bought and put on at the same Bridgestone store (they agreed to use Discount Tire pricing), but I can get the Potenzas serviced about 1/4 mile from my new house and at any Bridgestone shop. (They had a "buy 3, get the 4th free" deal in place for the Potenzas, which helped.)
Why did I get rid of the run flats?
1. Noise
2. Repairability - while it's great to be able to drive home on a flat, I like even better to be able to get a tire repaired and not wait 3 days for a replacement to come in, as happened with my recent damaged Run Flat.
3. All Season vs. performance - my original 18's from the factory, like everyone else's, are the Summer/Performance tires. Simply not comfortable with them in bad weather. Have had excellent luck with previous all-season Bridgestone high-performance tires on other cars.
Happy to provide anything else that i can!

BTW
I ordered all-season for the runflats that came on my CM4, like many others. FYI.
