back at the dealer again

well, it is back at the dealer again. Last week the radiator fan had a mind of it's own and the highspeed fan would come on and off after the car was shut off. Then car would barely start and ran rough until I got going. The dealer said the thermostat sensor was bad and replaced it. Then earlier this week the CEL came on and the a/c no longer worked. I took it in and waited on it while they "diagnosted the problem" and loaded new software for 4 hours, wtf are they using to load it a 386 or something. Well, after 5 hours sitting at the dealer, they gave me a loaner. They called me last night to get my permission to drive my car home so they could further diagnose and check the problem....right. Well today they worked on it all day, they have replaced some relays, and are going to reload the software again as the CEL still comes on after the car runs for a while. Beginning to worry about the relability of the Mini. With all the mechanical and electrical issues these cars are having I am losing faith in Mini. Cold start issues, tensioner troubles, fuel pump problems, thermostat sensors going bad, just too many problems.

The service is as bad as the cars are I mean come on Mini. I have lost faith in the Mini and the ability of the dealer to understand and fix the cars.
The car barely starting and running rough sounds like the high pressure fuel pump. My car had the same symptoms and died on the side of the road a week after I got it. Since they replaced the HPFP, no more rough starts/rough running. Have they checked that out since there is a fairly well known problem with the quality of the HPFPs?

I got the car back last week and the cooling fan was faulty and replaced to clear the codes / CEL . The previous fault where the fan would run erraticly after shutting engine off was caused by a faulty map thermostat which was replaced a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the follow up. Too often, once the problem goes away, the rest of us, never see what the solution was. I've got a '12 MCCS building in 2-3 weeks. I'm trying to get a feel for common issues, so I can limit time in the garage if they come up. Thanks again!
