Does anybody know what Mini intended to be mounted in the two brackets in the Glove Compartment (see photographs)? Does Mini sell a flashlight that mounts in that bracket?

Also, can you use the USB Connector in the Glove Compartment? My car has Connected with Navigation, so this might not be in cars without this package.

 

There's been some discussion about the brackets... apparently there are flashlights that fit it, I think the other possibility I read is that it's to hold a tire pressure gauge.

ETA: on second look it looks too big to me for a pressure gauge. I would imagine a small maglight might fit there, though. Also, as far as I know, Mini doesn't make a flashlight that fits it (I could be wrong though).

As for the USB connector in the glove box, my understanding is that's only used for updates, and you can't play music through it. You CAN plug a USB drive in the USB port in the center console, though (obviously).

 

I learned today that it does charge my Blackberry from the USB connector, so I can leave my ipod plugged into the centre console.
