Playing around with miniusa.com's custom paint shop...I figure this is what Mr. Teeny will look like after about 15 Wisconsin winters...

Sad but true. After 1 year and sleeping outside the whole time, my MINI still looks awesome...but how long can I realistically keep that up?!?!?!?! My wheels have a scratch or two. I've had hail damage and two door dings...all fixed. Perfection is an expensive obsession, especially when the elements are stacking the cards against you! Time will ultimately take its toll.

The great thing is that paint scratches and dinged wheels are invisible to the driver or to specators while motoring!

i bought the mini as my commuter...but ever since it started snowing,
i've been using my wife's car and carpooling. so future looks pretty
good for my MCS for now. I might buy a winter beater this fall.

Me too Kenchan. I don't take mine out when the roads aren't dry. Too much salt etc. She's Zaino-d well but I want her to still look better than me when we are old. I just count myself as lucky I have a garage and a beater for the wintertime.

Sure, eventually all our MINIS will turn into great 20/20 cars (look great at 20 mph from 20 feet away). But then again so will we! The most we can hope for is to keep our cars looking good during our tenure as guardians, and making sure that the next owner is responsible and will do the same.

I'll leave you with a bit of nilistic wisdom

In the long run...we're all dead
