SCCA Road Rally in Bucks County River Country
SCCA Road Rally in Bucks County River Country
Okay, I realize this isn't technically a New Jersey rally, but it's just across the river, and will be chock full o' twisties for your driving pleasure
Please join us in bringing Road Rally back to Philly Region this fall. Our first event will be a regional GTA rally through Upper Bucks County, just in time for you to traverse our course through the crisp fall air and beautiful autumn scenery. It will be a beautiful ride, but you will need to pay close attention as our rally will have course and trivia challenges along the way. This will be a great rally for those who have had an interest in rallies but have never given it a shot.
All you will need for this rally will be a car in good working order and a partner to drive or navigate with. Please note that this rally is not timed as we are running a GTA (Games, Touring and Adventure) rally. No special equipment will be needed (no slide rules, calculators, stop watches, GPS or advanced mathematics degrees). We’ll wrap everything up with a nice meal, some fun stories, and awards in the New Hope area. Scoring will be based on correct mileage and trivia questions that are answered through the course of the rally. Time is not a factor in scoring other than there being a maximum amount of time to complete the route.
We will be running this rally according to the SCCA Road Rally Rule Book's regional rules for a GTA rally. The rulebook can be found here: http://cms.scca.com/documents/Rally%...lyRuleBook.pdf
Cars must be in working order and be insured with auto insurance policy with liability limits of not less than $20,000 /$40,000/$10,000 (no exceptions). Each entrant must certify that the car entered is on the road legally and is either owned by the entrant or is being used by the entrant with the owner’s permission. Each vehicle participating shall have two and only two participants. Children ten years of age and under may ride with their parent(s), without counting against the maximum limit of 2 participants, but we'll need the names of any minors at the time of registration. Any participant under the age of 18, however, must have a minor waiver signed by both parents.
We will be limiting this rally to 25 cars. There will be 2 classes offered (novice and experienced). Teams that have completed more than 5 rallies should enter experienced. The top 3 teams in each class will receive trophies.
Cars will be assigned a number before the rally by a drawing and will depart the park in that order, leaving at minute intervals with car 1 leaving at 11:01. Should there be two classes, the experienced class will depart first. Please keep in mind that the numbering is not for timing purposes, but to keep track of cars during the day. Official time will be via KYW-1060's hour mark.
Teams should bring a clipboard, a watch that can be set to KYW 1060's time mark, highlighters and a pen.
General instructions will be delivered via e-mail in Adobe Acrobat format upon registration and are available via mail upon request (call or email for them).
