Hey all,
Im in the market for a mini S. I want a supercharged model since my brother who works for dinan can get me some ridiculous prices for their performance stuff.

Anywhoo im wondering whats everyones experience with the 06's have been? from what ive read and heard they seem to be among the most reliable, the other option is to buy a newer one like an 09 that will have some warranty remaining.

I'm an R53 guy so obviously I'll say go with the '06. To answer your question, the '06 is definitely the year to buy if you're considering an R53. The down side is that it may be harder to find the one you're looking for, compared to a 2009.

 

You are aware that an 09 would have a turbo, not a supercharged engine, right?

 

06 was the last year of the hardtop SC car r53...
most mods will also work on the softtop S's r52's that were produced with the sc till 08.
if you want a car to put the dinan stuff on, it must be a gen1...

 

My 04 gave me almost no issues the entire time I owned it - I had some Dinan stuff on it and I love their stuff! I just picked up an 2011 clubman and was on the Dinan site looking for stuff and saw the sale prices for the R53 stuff

I wish Dinan would make some stuff for the Gen 2 cars - Their stuff worked great on my 04!!
