I have the stock headunit with cd player and it skips like mad. Anyone else experience this? My CD's are in perfect condition and don't skip in anything else, just inside my Mini. Small bump – skip. Turn hard – skip. Stop hard – skip. You get the point. Should I bother going back to the dealership and try and get them to fix it or should I just get an aftermarket headunit? Any suggestions.
Thanks.

my '03 MCS with stock in-dash CD player hasn't ever skipped, even on rough roads. I say get the dealer to look at or replace it.

Mine skips too when im riding on the 17 runflats and hit a bump.
I was thinking about getting it replaced when i have the inspection1
done, but lately ive been using my 6CD changer and rarely use the
headunit CD, so not sure. I might just end up getting an aftermarket
HU anyway in a few years.

I'd report the skipping to the dealership and provide the CD that reveals the skipping.
Maybe some CD players are more sensitive than others and are prone to skipping with rough roads and lots of G forces.

I'm on my 3rd H/K headunit - they can't track CD's to save their lives.

Mine's never skipped so far, even on rough backroads with my 17" runflat at 35psi...If mine skipped so often, I would be crazed...because I never drive without CD music...my current favorit is Norah Jones...
I would say, you need to get a new one at your dealer as soon as possible!

Happy motoring
