Not a Member Just Yet!
Hello, All!
Just remembered about the Sin City MINI Club!
A while ago I noticed a lot of MINIs parked at Hofbräuhaus on Paradise on a Saturday night and wondered if it was an event. Sure enough when I left an hour or two later, someone had left a business card on my car. You guys know a non-member MINI when you see one!
Wondering a little more about how the membership works and what kinds of fun things you all get together to do.
Currently, my 07 MCS is at the dealership.. I had an engine malfunction light come on, which they said they've fixed (under warranty), but now the battery is dead and they want $571 to replace it and re-program the car!
Not a chance I'm paying that.
Not a good week and a half for Beatrix, but she'll be all fixed up soon.

Sorry to hear about Beatrix's woes! Not sure if there's a way around the new battery/reprogramming thing. That has not happened to me. Perhaps folks will see your post here and offer some other suggestions.
Becoming a member is easy. Simply go to the Club's Website and follow the Membership link. Just fill out the form and follow the links through to remit your dues. The $30 initial membership fee includes a membership kit and entitles you to a number of benefits including a 25% discount on all SCMC merchandise, selective reimbursements for folks who attend MINI-related non-Club events – like MTTS, MITM and so on, as well as discounts from an assortment of vendors here in town. Membership is renewable for $20 each and every February.
If you join us, there is no obligation to attend meetings or participate in any events, though the more people and MINIs attend, the more fun we will have. Each month we have a Motor-In or two - which is probably what you came up on at Hofbrauhaus. A Motor-In is where we pick a restaurant somewhere in town and share a meal together. These give us a chance to mix and mingle and meet new members and spend time with friends. We also try to do at least one run a month - to some location nearby or not so nearby. You can check out our Club Event Calendar to get an idea of where we've been and are headed to. Where possible we also try to make it to local events. Everyone's schedules are different, so we try to keep the calendar filled with things so you can pick and choose what to do.
Once a year we also host AMVIV - A MINI Vacation In Vegas. A national, and internationally, recognized MINI- and Mini-centric event, that people make the drive (and flight) to Vegas for from all over the place. You can read up on that here.
If that wasn't enough info for you - we're also very active on Facebook. The Club has a page here, and the AMVIV page is here.
Hope to see you around sometime.
