R50/53 Xenon lights on a non-xenon equipped car -- direct swap?
Xenon lights on a non-xenon equipped car -- direct swap?
Hi All,
Wanted to see if anyone has done this, is there an FAQ of any type or DIY? Is there special wiring involved?
Thanks.

Well yes and no.
Technically, yes, they can be swapped.
To be legal, your xenons would need leveling sensors and motors, which you won't have. You'll be blinding people as you drive.
EDIT: you'd need to replace the sockets and add ballasts, etc, but you can swap the wiring apparently... but don't do it.

I was talking about Mini HID Headlights into a car that was not originally equipped with them -- headlight housing, projectors etc..
I would never condone HID bulbs and ballasts installed in a non-projector car scattering the light all over the place, creating glare and actually hurting your visibility as a driver.
Thanks for info .. sounds like I should just hunt for a MINI that already has this option.
