I installed my Alta Oil Catch Can about a year ago. Yesterday, I developed a horrific lifter tick after doin 6 laps on the track, and I took it home to further investigate the issue. As I was getting down to the nitty gritty, I came across the crank case vent hose (you know that plastic-ish one that Alta instructed you to just cap off?) and the cap they had supplied was all dry rotted and cracked through! After only a year?? I suggest you all look at yours. I'm replacing mine with a silicone cap of some sort, something thats not gonna rot in there. I have a slight rough idle every now and then, very very slight but this vacuum leak could possibly be the reason why. Has anyone else's cap done the same thing?
