last weekend i was autocrossing. before going into turn, heel-toed wrong went from second to reverse. slight grind, but did not fully engage. shifter did not look right. it was between reverse and first. finished, run. went to grid. trans would not go into reverse at all. no grinding, just couldn't push shifter up into gear. all other gears working properly.

couple of days later, trans finally went into reverse with no issues. but stayed in reverse even after placing shifter into neutral or any other gear. i had to place the shifter into reverse multiple times before it would release.

when trans does not want to go into reverse, like i said, shifter doesnt sit right. when pushing up, the shifter will move to the right then stop. it takes a simple flick and it will resume in the neutral location.

going to remove trans tomorrow, any ideas on what to look for? i have only worked on honda trannies. bent shifter rod, fork?

i will keep all posted on what i find

does anyone know where i can buy replacement parts for the tranny? do mini dealerships provide parts?

 

I've had limited to NO luck finding parts for the trannies. Had some limited luck on odd ball stuff with Ford as the Focus SVT uses the same tranny.

 

I was able to find parts!!! The company is out of Europe. Found them on Ebay. www.minitransmission.com/ check them out. They sell everything for our trannies.
