Handbrake handle recommendations?

The little chrome piece surrounding the handbrake button in my MINI has broken off one already... and the replacement is getting so loose that it rattles quite loudly over even the smallest of bumps in the road. It's driving me nuts!

So, I'm looking for an aftermarket replacement handbrake handle (preferably one-piece, and something that would look decent along side the stock shift ****). Anyone have any recommendations?

Wow mine broke and I replaced it and haven't had a problem. There are a couple of people that make them. Some are aluminum and there is someone that is making custom wood ones.

I figure Robin Casady makes some wood ones.
But I'm hoping to get some first-hand feedback from people that have an aftermarket handbrake handle who can say what they liked, didn't like, etc.

I bought mine from Whalen. I went for the aluminum one instead of the steel one but it's still VERY solid compared to the factory handle. Both the handle and button are wiggle free, solid to touch and perform very well..

I've got both a shift **** and e-brake handle from Robin Casady and have been very happy with both. Not only do they look and feel great, they install like the originals and I haven't had a single issue with either coming loose etc.

Do either of you have pictures?

And, as you're in LV, I take it the wood holds up to the heat fairly well?

Walnut is particularly good at holding up to heat, and the classic wood for mid 20th Century British sports cars. Wooden shift ***** and ebrake handles will be more comfortable in temperature extremes than metal. Your tongue wont stick to wood in winter and you can't fry an egg on it in summer. ;-)

NAM policy prevents me from posting photos of things I sell, but Googling my name and "shift ****" should get you there.

I was agonizing over a ****/handle set of fumed amboyna burl you've got over there... but in the end, I think a metal one is going to work better with my interior. And my mind's eye is telling me that a wooden **** needs a shifter boot, while I've been thinking of getting rid of mine for one of those slider things over at craven.

It's really tough, though, as I love that shifter **** (#112).
I wish I could afford both and just trade them out every so often. That not being realistic, part of me is hoping you'll say that amboyna burl would be terrible in the heat of southern Arizona, just to make my decision easier.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Amboyna burl is well seasoned, and does fine in Arizona. I had a problem with some Tigerwood in AZ, but I sent them a blank to keep in their car for three months to acclimate. Then I turned a new **** for them. That seems to have worked.
